Housing Elderly Nottingham, Sheltered Housing, Warden Aided Housing, Housing Associations Elderly, Fox Grove Court, Lincoln Court, Spencer Court, William Olds Court, MRBHA.
The Association has charitable status and is registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act and also with the Tenant Services Authority as a Registered Social Landlord. As such is has been successful over the years in obtaining Social Housing Grant, particularly towards the cost of developing Fox Grove Court and Lincoln Court and major repairs and re-modelling works to its other properties. The Association undertakes its own fundraising and is indebted to many Trust Funds and individuals for contributions towards the Spencer Court development and on-going improvements to its schemes.
The Association endeavours to ensure that the rent paid by tenants is kept to an affordable level. The Association is non-profit making but aims to make a surplus each year to fund necessary repairs and improvements to its properties.
Individual schemes organise varied fundraising activities for little extras such as outings, parties and presents for tenants at Christmas. A lot of time and effort was spent fundraising towards the purchase of a new minibus and much fun was had in organising fayres, dances, quizzes, table top sales etc. Staff, tenants and committee members contributed towards a booklet entitled “Memory Lane” telling individual tales from the past and these were sold with proceeds to the minibus fund.
